A short pamphlet for people who still miss the handmade web.
The old internet was not a product. It was a pile of directories with names like public_html, linked together by people who cared enough to put something there. Profiles can vanish overnight. A folder you published yourself still feels like home.
Guestbooks. Under-construction GIFs. Pages that loaded at modem speed and somehow meant more. The useful web was always modest scripts and imperfect layouts — not dashboards designed to keep you scrolling.
A homepage does not need a growth team. A blog does not need a creator fund. One person, one domain, one stubborn corner of the network — that was enough, and it still is.
Markdown in a folder. HTML you can open in a text editor. Words that travel with you when platforms change their mind. The Previous Web prefers documents over accounts.
This site is an ode — not a museum, not a restart button. A place to write about the internet before it was rented: slow, personal, and gloriously unfinished.
